I would like to inform you of my intent to apply for a BSc. Mining Engineering Bursary aid advertised on the Eureka Coal Mining website to assist me in my educational development.
I am currently in my first year of study for a BSc in Engineering (Mining) at the University of the Witwatersrand, where I have the opportunity not only to thrive academically but also equip myself to grow as an individual and reach my full personal potential, but due to my restricted financial resources I’m being deprived of the educational opportunity.
The University of the Witwatersrand gives me the opportunity to gain the skills of being the mining engineering on which it will be a greater contribution to the company and South African economy. Mining engineer is the important link between men and earth natural resource and also ensures the safety and development of the mines.
I am from a family of five children in which I happen to be the second last born with one parent working. My father passed away when I was only 10 years old, my mother has since taken care of my siblings and me since then. It is unlikely to get her to handle my tuition fees while taking care of my other siblings, because of her small salary.
What sets me apart from other applicants is that I’m a very hardworking individual and academically deserving. This is so because I take pride in my academics and work very hard in achieving good grades.
I would give thousands of reasons as to why I should be granted the bursary but not one which equates to my financial neediness as I have waited for a long time to have such opportunity.
It would be of my great joy if I could be granted the bursary, I will delightfully accept it, pledge to do my very best to surpass your expectations of me. Thank you very much for your time and attention to my application.
