Teachers play vital roles in the lives of the students in their classrooms. Teachers are best known for the role of educating the students that are placed in their care. Beyond that, teachers serve many other roles in the classroom. Teachers set the nature of their classrooms, assemble a warm environment, mentor and nurture students, become role models, protect their students and helps the community at large. The teacher must learn to control five processes of teaching that are making and using knowledge, shaping the school, teaching with strategy, creating interpersonal climate and controlling a teaching personality (Siddiqui, 2011)
Communication Skill: A teacher must communication in easy and simple words so that all the learners can understand easily. We should communicate by lowering our own level at the level of the learners. We should be very clear and concise in our ideas. Words and language with dual meaning or ambiguous meaning should not be used. We should be generous with advice and guidance. Teacher should adjust their teaching style to meet individual needs of students.
Be Prepared: A teacher should enter into the classroom with full preparation and in depth knowledge of the subject. We should plan the sessions and prepare the teaching materials with great care. It should be the responsibility of a teacher to make sure that all handouts, lesson plans, presentation and any other writing is always spellchecked as any spelling mistakes will reflect on the learners. We should use the modern technology in preparation of this material. It should be attractive, creative and inspiring.
Creating Classroom Environment: Some teacher may work with students to create the classroom environment and others may force a classroom environment upon students. One of the main features to emerge from teachers effectiveness research as a correlate of student achievement and attainment is opportunity to learn (Mujis, 2001).Teachers play an important role in the classroom when it comes to the environment. Students often mimic a teacher’s actions. If the teacher prepares a warm, happy environment, students are more likely to be happy. An environment set by the teacher can be either positive or negative. If students sense the teacher is angry, students may react negatively to that by not participating and therefore learning cannot be impaired. Teachers own personality, his knowledge about his learners’ environment, their own growth potential and his ability to be forward-looking are matters for consideration in this particular dimension (Singh, 2011). Teachers are responsible for the social behavior in their classrooms. This behavior is primarily a reflection of the teacher’s actions and the environment she sets.

Being Attentive: Sometimes, the behavior of learners demonstrate that something is not going right. Therefore. I as a teacher must pay attention to any suspicious sings that could bother the learners. As teacher, it is my responsibility to find out what is going on with the learners in the classroom.
Protective: A teacher must make sure that all students have equal rights and safe learning environment where they are able to build a trusting and honest relationship. Teachers should value all of their learners individually and equally. A teacher should be professional yet sympathetic to the learner’s needs. Teacher should give students an environment to learn on their own without putting them in box and saying…you belong here because of your age, etc.
Wisdom moderator: The educator will mediate learning in a manner which is sensitive to the diverse needs of learners, including those with barriers to learning; construct learning environments that are appropriately contextualized and inspirational; Communicate effectively showing recognition of and respect for the differences of others. In addition an educator will demonstrate sound knowledge of subject content and various principles, strategies and resources appropriate to teaching in a country’s context. The teacher with professional competence which comprises planning of lessons, possessing requisite knowledge of the subject matter, perceiving how pupils learn, executing the proposed plan of activity, encouraging the learner to help himself and testing how much he has learned. This type of teacher would help students in their learning.
Lesson Plans: The planning of a lesson is a key responsibility within a teachers list of challenging task. All the teachers need to make good lesson plan with set specific learning objectives related to the subjects. Teachers have to identify relevant teaching learning materials and appropriate teaching learning strategy which would involve children in their learning. The lesson must have values which can be used to overcome daily issues and teacher must assign work based on the daily experiences, so that they learn better.

Monitor and Assess Learning: Teacher should always supervise or monitor and guide students work, as their work may not be good. A teacher should always encourage students to discuss the chosen topic or method not only with the teacher but also amongst themselves. We should assess various learning styles within the group and identify the methods by which learners can understand better. A teacher should identify student’s weaknesses and should be able to plan a strategy to assist them with it.
